Trade In

Life is full of transitions. One of the markers which follow certain changes in life are the type of shoes we are using. This week’s post, Trade In, follows how the type of shoes go with different times of life. Enjoy!

Trade In

I started with the shoes with Velcro

Which light up as I ran.

As long as I had those on,

I could do what I could.

I traded in my light up shoes

For a pair of Nike Swoosh’s.

Now, a ball and a hoop

Was my life on hoop.

I traded in my basketball shoes

For a pair of dress shoes.

Now, I have to act professional

In order to have a life at all.

I traded in my dress shoes

For Velcro ones.

Now, I need more help,

Otherwise I will fall and yelp.
