The Madness of March

This week’s Sconnie Scribe writing is something I was inspired to write about March Madness from a few years ago. This year will be its own form of madness with March Madness rolling forth. Do you feel similarly about the Big Dance each year?

The Madness of March

Hear the scratch of pen to paper.

Or the click of the mouse to the circle.

It’s a stampede that ushers in March.

The best season of the year is the one that lasts a couple weeks long.

Are you ready for basketball all day long?

Are you ready for Cinderellas

who clean up nicely for the big dance and end upsetting the most popular guest?

Now there are a million people upset.

Brackets busted.

The monster in the way is taken down with a buzzer beating dagger.

Nobody ends the journey perfect for their bracket,

Even if they started day one flawless.

For the next couple weeks,

You might hear shouts of sadness and enjoyment at your school or place of employment.

Honestly, I am still not over a loss from a few years ago that resulted from a lucky toss.

No matter.

Let the madness begin,

So I can watch my team win.
