Bigfoot

Bigfoot

This week’s post is another short writing for some food for thought. I started coming up with this concept within this past year after reflecting not only on the past four years but also the many years before. Once I thought of this, I could not get it out of my head. Many people come into our lives. Through these many types of people our lives change. Granted, there are many people who we encounter in life who affect us with their quick impressions into our memories. Yet, Bigfoot focuses on the individuals in life who made their impression a bit bigger than others. In the following writing, I am mainly emphasizing how we can learn from those who have been in our lives; however, who we become is shaped by many others aspects for experiences, including music, tv shows, and books to name a few. I should stop here and let you proceed to reading below before overlapping too much.

After reading the selection below, who would you say is a bigfoot for your life? Don’t worry if you have a couple. You can have more than one.

Once you have identified at least one bigfoot for your life, I challenge you to reach out to them today if possible and thank them.

Bigfoot

By: Monica Tews

Hello, everyone!

I have a major announcement.

I have spotted bigfoot.

Wait, it’s not what you think.

Let me clarify.

I have not found some extremely hairy creature in the woods.

What I am talking about are a certain kind of people.

These people stepped into my life leaving behind an enormous footprint on my mind.

Their footprints were reminders of who they were and what they did.

The lessons of the good or the bad.

Most of these people have left big footprints on other people’s lives as well.

These impressions last a lifetime sometimes without notice,

But their lessons shape who we turn out to be.

Many people may fit into the clan of bigfoot,

But the way to know is to pay attention and reflect.

If I encounter a bigfoot from my past today,

I will try my best to express my gratitude for the lessons learned.

Someday I hope to be a bigfoot to another person,

But until then I’ll keep thinking of the footprints left on my mind.
