The Umbrellas

The Umbrellas

Like many of my writings which I have posted so far, I was came up with the ideas during this past spring when I relied on those around me for support during a difficult time period. This week’s writing, The Umbrellas, deals with social support visualized in a most likely uncommon way. Once you are done reading this post, try your best to reflect on the different umbrellas you have had in your life. Enjoy and read on!

The Umbrellas

I do not have a single umbrella.

I have numerous umbrellas.

Even though they have my back,

They are protecting my head.

It’s raining cats, dogs, and ANTs.

I ought to open an umbrella,

But one umbrella does not cut it.

What I thought was a regular umbrella

Relates more to the cocktail version.

So I make sure that I put up

An arsenal of these umbrellas

For providing reinforcements

From the earth crushing me.

Who holds up umbrellas for Atlas

While he pursues holding his world high?
